Getting rid of notifications from Samsung’s Gallery app? (or even the whole app)Stromboli I’m currently using a Galaxy S5 mini running Android 5.1.1 and one thing I find particularly irritating is Samsung’s Gallery app that keeps giving notifications. For some reason, I can’t seem to turn them off. There seems to be no setting in the Gallery app to disable it. And I can’t disable, delete or uninstall the app itself. If I go to Android Settings, Sounds & Notifications, App Notifications, for most of the apps in the list, I can block notifications. Interestingly, this is not the case with some built-in apps like Gallery: I also looked in the Gallery app settings, unfortunately the “Show notifications” checkbox and the “Disable” button are disabled. Is there any way to get rid of the Gallery notifications, or just get rid of the app altogether?

Can we make this community wiki and also 1 application per answer? It is much easier to check if something has already been said and edit it to add information about that application. Thanks.
I did a lot of cleaning up. Changed all application names to ##(because it was the most used in existing answers. Moved the links to be inside the application names. Removed some first-person descriptors.
Of note, Dropbox has had a sordid history of security and sketchy practices involving dealing with authorities: news.cnet.com/8301-31921_3-20072755-281/… and paranoia.dubfire.net/2011/04/….
@robsoft: I didn’t know about the PDF file join. can you explain how this happens? (Or am I misunderstanding you?) IE: document1.pdf and document2.pdf and then save it as document.pdf combined. I’ve tried the obvious things and it doesn’t seem to work.
That’s brilliant! I no longer have to wait for bloated Acrobat to open to merge documents. My problem was that I opened both PDF files at once, which stuck them both in the sidebar as separate PDF files, and they wouldn’t let me do it. The trick is to simply open the one and then drag. thanks a lot!
