What can I bring to jury duty California?

Permission to drink alcohol

In Puerto Rico, there is a right to trial by jury in felony criminal cases. This means that in criminal proceedings of this type, the accused person has the right to be tried before an impartial or neutral jury. All qualified persons have the duty and responsibility to serve as jurors.

The jury is responsible for evaluating the evidence and determining whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty.    Jurors receive instructions from the Court during the trial. Jurors do not ask questions or intervene directly in the trial process.

The names of potential jurors are randomly drawn from various information banks maintained by the Government. These individuals are sent a questionnaire to complete and return. This questionnaire allows to know if these persons are eligible to serve as jurors.

Completion of this form is mandatory. Failure to complete it could result in the person being summoned to the Bureau of Jury Administration or to a Court. Failure to appear for this summons is a violation of law.
